SUSPENSION BUSHES
Suspension bushes are small rubber components that sit between the metal parts of a vehicle's steering and suspension system. They play a big part in a vehicle's ride quality, handling, and safety.

They act as cushions or vibration dampeners, allowing specific movement while also reducing friction and noise. They are used in areas where parts are known to move or flex, such as control arms, stabiliser bars, and other mounts and rods.

ADVANTAGES OF NAKATA SUSPENSION BUSHES
Insert: Nakata premium ball joints are made from hardened steel and feature a durable, wear-resistant ball and socket design.

Insert: Ball joints are sealed with a premium rubber or synthetic boot that effectively keeps out dirt, water, and debris while retaining lubrication. This prevents premature wear and corrosion.

Insert: Come pre-lubricated with a high-performance grease that provides long-lasting, friction-free operation.
THE SUSPENSION BUSH DOESN'T WORK ALONE
It's important to check other components that work together to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the system.
HOW TO DETECT PROBLEMS
Suspension bushes can fail for several reasons. Those made from rubber are susceptible to age-related wear and tear, while environmental factors including heat, oil, or other contaminants can also contribute to failure. Other reasons can include corrosion around mounting points or harsh driving conditions. Some common symptoms of suspension bush failure include:
-
Knocking or clunking noises, especially when driving over bumps
-
Steering issues including drifting or wandering instead of holding in a straight line, feeling loose, delayed, or overly sensitive
-
Vibration through the steering wheel or chassis
-
Poor handling or excessive body roll, especially in corners
-
Pulling to one side under braking
-
Uneven or excessive tyre wear
-
Visible damage or deterioration including cracks, splits, or missing rubber
